Consultation on Regulations Relating to the Establishment of Social Care and Social Work Improvement Scotland (SCSWIS) and Heal

The Scottish Government is consulting on regulations drafted under the Public Services Reform (Scotland) Act 2010 relating to the establishment of Social Care and Social Work Scotland (SCSWIS) and Healthcare Improvement Scotland (HIS). Consultation to 5 November 2010.

The Public Services Reform (Scotland) Act 2010 ( PSR Act) was passed by the Scottish Parliament in March 2010. As part of this Act two new bodies, Social Care and Social Work Improvement Scotland ( SCSWIS) and Healthcare Improvement Scotland ( HIS) are being created which will be charged with improving the quality of social care, social work, children's services and healthcare services. The bodies will take over these responsibilities from April 2011.

These regulations will cover: registration; inspection; joint inspections; reporting; and fees.
