Education Committee considers Local Government Funding of Education and Children's Services, 09/06/10 [S]

During its meeting of 9 June 2010 the Scottish Parliament Education, Lifelong Learning and Culture Committee took evidence on local government funding of education and children's services.

The Committee heard from Robert Nicol, team leader; Barbara Lindsay, strategic director; and Sarah Fortune, policy manager; all from COSLA with responsibility for children and young people.

Issues covered included spending on additional support for learning, class sizes and free school meals.

The Committee also took evidence on subordinate legislation relating to the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 at this meeting.
