1 million announced for Beatbullying's CyberMentors programme, 29/03/10 [E/NI/S/W]

Schools Minister Vernon Coaker has announced that the Department for Children Schools and Families will continue its investment in Beatbullying's CyberMentors programme, with a further 1million.

CyberMentors.org.uk is a safe, social networking site providing information and support for young people being bullied or cyber bullied. Young people, aged 11-25, are trained as CyberMentors, in schools and online, so that they can offer support to their peers. The service has engaged over 400,000 young people who were looking for support and advice from people their own age to cope with bullying.
