Welfare Reform Bill, 12/11/09 [E/S/W]

On 12 November 2009 the House of Lords considered House of Commons amendments to the Welfare Reform Bill.

The Lords do not insist on their amendment relating to lone parents of children aged under 5, and agree to the amendment made in the Commons requiring all work-related activity regulations relating to lone parents with children under the age of 7 to be brought to both Houses for debate.

The Bill receives Royal Assent and becomes the Welfare Reform Act 2009.

For full details see the House of Lords Hansard 12 November 2009 which is available from the UK Parliament website.
