Education Committee hears from Scotland's new Commissioner for Children and Young People, 23/06/09 [S]

During its meeting of 23 June 2009 the Scottish Parliament Education, Lifelong Learning and Culture Committee took evidence from Scotland's Commissioner for Children and Young People, Tam Baillie.

Mr Baillie laid out his work agenda in three areas - the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, involvement of children and young people, and work on discrimination. He also talked about the impotance of addressing child poverty and inequality; and of the importance of early years.
