Anti-homophobia Toolkit for Teachers Motion, 16/02/09 [S]

Motion lodged before the Scottish Parliament on 16 February 2009 by Aileen Campbell (SNP) welcoming the publication of the new toolkit resource for teachers, Dealing with Homophobia and Homophobic Bullying in Scottish Schools.

The full text of the motion reads:

That the Parliament welcomes the publication during Anti-Bullying Week of the new toolkit resource for teachers, Dealing with Homophobia and Homophobic Bullying in Scottish Schools; notes that the toolkit was developed in partnership by LBGT Youth Scotland and Learning and Teaching Scotland and aims to help build teachers’ confidence and skills in dealing with homophobia in schools; notes the contribution that it will make in supporting lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender young people and helping to challenge homophobia and homophobic bullying in schools, and recognises the work that LGBT Youth Scotland has undertaken to tackle the issues of prejudice, inequality and homophobia to ensure all young people can enjoy the full benefits of learning in a safe and an inclusive environment.
