One Plus Oral Question, 25/01/07 [S]

During First Minister's Question Time on 25 January 2007 Rosie Kane (SSP) asked what action the Scottish Executive intends to take to ensure the continued existence of One Plus.

First Minister Jack McConnell replied that the Scottish Executive has worked hard in recent weeks with local authorities and voluntary agencies to put in place contingency arrangements, which mean that the vast majority of services that One Plus delivered will be preserved.

He said that he believes that the services that are being transferred or taken over should be transferred to or taken over by voluntary bodies as much as possible. However, he said that he recognises that there may be a role for local authorities in the meantime to establish some continuity.

For the full answer to this and to other questions see the Scottish Parliament Official Report 25 January 2007.
