Family support services inquiry, 12/04/06 [S]

The Scottish Parliament Justice 1 Committee has launched an inquiry into the provision of family support services in Scotland. Following the passage of the Family Law (Scotland) Bill the Committee agreed that these services needed further investigation. The Committee is asking for comments by 5 May 2006.

The inquiry will look at the extent of provision across Scotland, the different ways in which services are provided, and consider ways in which service provision can be improved.

All interested parties are invited to submit written evidence to the inquiry. The Committee is looking for service users to comment on what services they have used and their experience, any issues that concern them and what services they would like to see provided. From service providers, the Committee would like comments on what services they provide, how frequently the services are used and who uses them, what the main areas of concern are in providing the services and how closely they work with other organisations in providing the services.
