Education and Training Written Answer, 02/03/06 [S]

Written Answer given in response to Trish Godman's (Lab) question asking the Scottish Executive what plans it has to ensure that every young person in Scotland has access to either education or training.

Allan Wilson, Deputy Minister for Enterprise and Lifelong Learning, replied that annual investment in colleges and universities is at record levels and will rise to over 1.6 billion by 2007-08. He also said that this is supplemented by Government training programmes such as the Modern Apprenticeship programme which is open to everyone over the age of 16.
