Teacher Numbers Written Answer, 24/06/15 [S]

Written Answer given in response to Jenny Marra's (Lab) question asking the Scottish Government what its policy is on schools operating below their teaching complement.

The Minister for Learning, Science and Scotland's Languages, Alasdair Allan, replied that the Scottish Government believes that having the right numbers of teachers, with the right skills, in all of Scotland's schools is crucial to meeting our priority of raising attainment for all and closing the equity gap. That is why we have provided 51 million and secured a commitment from every local authority that they will maintain teacher numbers
