South Lanarkshire Council Education Department Oral Question, 18/03/15 [S]

During Portfolio Question Time on 18 March 2015 Christina McKelvie (SNP) asked the Scottish Government when it last met South Lanarkshire Councilís education department and what issues where discussed.

The Minister for Learning, Science and Scotland's Languages, Dr Alasdair Allan replied, that Education Scotland and South Lanarkshire Council meet regularly to discuss a variety of issues related to education. The most recent meeting was on 23 February, when a number of issues were discussed, including inspection activity, activity to raise attainment and professional learning opportunities for senior leaders. Scottish Government officials are due to meet South Lanarkshire Council on 14 April to discuss the monitoring of the councilís commitment to maintain teacher numbers and the pupil teacher ratio.
