Pupil Assessment in Schools Oral Question, 5/02/15 [S]

During Portfolio Question Time on 5 February 2015 Michael McMhaon (Lab) asked the Scottish Government what plans it has for pupil assessment in schools.

The Minister for Learning, Science and Scotland's Languages Dr Alasdair Allan replied, that the Scottish Government are committed to improving outcomes for all children and young people. In order to raise attainment, it is important to be able to demonstrate success and identify challenges so that we understand where improvements need to be made. That is why, in schools, teachers already gather evidence on pupilsí progress across a range of learning and why the Scottish Government and local authorities always look at good practice wherever we find it.
