Fund Scotland Through Youth Start Motion, 09/01/15 [S]

Motion lodged before the Scottish Parliament on 9 January 2015 by Hanzala Malik (Lab) on Fund Scotland through Young Start. The full text of the motion reads:

That the Parliament acknowledges the 1.1 million awarded to Scottish projects by the Big Lottery Fund Scotland through Young Start; understands that the aim of the 24 projects is to aid eight to 23-year-olds across Scotland in reaching their full potential; understands that Glasgow will benefit through Hope Amplified, which has received 49,978 for the Kush Music Initiative, which will provide young Glaswegians with professional training in African music and drama, teaching them to play musical instruments, music production and arrangement, working toward the young participants receiving an HNC in African percussion; believes that the project will use music to inspire young people, improve their lifestyles, rebuild their confidence, achieve new skills and qualifications and will ultimately improve their employment prospects; wishes the project success; and hopes to see similar future projects to help the next generation in Glasgow.
