Investment in Scotland's Schools for the Future Oral Question, 3/12/14 [S]

During Portfolio Question Time on 3 December 2014 Mike MacKenzie (SNP) asked the Scottish Government how much will be invested in the programme, Scotlandís schools for the future.

The Minister for Learning, Science and Scotlandís Languages, Alasdair Allan, replied that £1.8 billion will be invested in the Scottish Governmentís schools for the future programme, in partnership with local authorities. That will bring about the construction of 91 new schools. Further projects to benefit from a fourth phase of the programme will be announced in December 2014, which will take the figure to well in excess of 100 schools built, for over 60,000 pupils, by March 2020.
