SNAP Year One Anniversary Motion, 27/11/14 [S]

Motion lodged before the Scottish Parliament on 27 November 2014 by Christina McKelvie (SNP) on SNAP Year One Anniversary.† The full text of the motion reads:

That the Parliament congratulates Scotlandís National Action Plan for Human Rights (SNAP) on its first anniversary on 10 December 2014; acknowledges SNAPís shared birthday with the founding of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948; commends SNAPís success in developing an organisation that serves as a campaigner for the enhancement of human rights in Scotland; recognises what it considers the groupís achievement in effectively unifying numerous human rights organisations, which together fulfil SNAPís global commitments; notes that, in achieving its aims, SNAP brings together government, the public sector, civil society and people whose human rights are directly affected, in a collaborative manner that identifies what should be done and how to do it, and hopes that SNAP will serve as a beacon in the international battle for a better culture, improved health and social care, an adequate standard of living and an amended justice and safety system.
