Breastfeeding Written Answer, 21/10/14 [S]

Written Answer given in response to Elaine Smith's (Lab) question asking the Scottish Government what training is provided to Procurator Fiscal Deputes in relation to the Breastfeeding etc. (Scotland) Act 2005.

The Solicitor General, Lesley Thomson, replied that the Breastfeeding etc. (Scotland) Act 2005 makes it an offence to prevent or stop a person in charge of a child who is otherwise permitted to be in a public place or licensed premises from feeding milk to that child in that place or on those premises.

Guidance on offences under the Act is provided to Procurator Fiscal Deputes which is outlined in the answer to S4W-22621 on 21 October 2014.

For the full answer to this and other questions see the Scottish Parliament Written Answer Report 21 October 2014 which is available from the Scottish Parliament website.
