Police Scotland Child Abuse Investigation Unit Oral Question, 09/10/14 [S]

During First Minister's Question Time on 9 October 2014 Christine Grahame (SNP) asked the First Minister what the Scottish Governmentís position is on Police Scotlandís national child abuse investigation unit.

The First Minister, Alex Salmond, replied that the Scottish Government welcome this positive move by Police Scotland. The new national child abuse investigation unit will provide specialist investigative resources to lead or assist with complex or high-profile child abuse investigations. The unit will allow Police Scotland to work in a more structured way on child abuse that is not confined by geographical boundaries. The unit also demonstrates a clear commitment to child protection.
