Diabetes Debate, 30/04/14 [E/NI/S/W]

Debate in the House of Commons on 30 April 2014 on type 1 diabetes in young people. The debate was opened by George Howarth (Lab).

He said:

"There are 400,000 people of all ages with type 1 diabetes in the UK and, currently, 35,000 children and young people have diabetes, 93% of whom have type 1 diabetes. It is important that we understand the difference between type 1 and type 2 diabetes, because, all too often, the two conditions are dealt with in the media as though they were one and the same thing".

For full details see the House of Commons Hansard 30 April 2014 which is available from the UK Parliament website.
