Budget (Scotland) (No 3) Bill: Stage 3 Debate, 05/02/14 [S]

During its meeting of 5 February 2014 the Scottish Parliament held the Stage 3 debate on the Budget (Scotland) (No 3) Bill.

Issues discussed included employment, childcare, free school meals, welfare reform and the bedroom tax.

At decision time the Bill was passed.

During his speech to Parliament, Finance Secretary Swinney announced that the Scottish Government will increase the money available through Discretionary Housing Payments (DHP) to the limit imposed by the DWP - 22.85 million and, if the DWP refuse the request to lift the cap on DHPs, will make a further 12 million available to social landlords to prevent evictions solely due to the Bedroom Tax.
