Homophobic Bullying, 19/11/13 [S]

Motion lodged before the Scottish Parliament on 19 November 2013 by Marco Biagi (SNP) on homophobic bullying.

The full text of the motion reads:

That the Parliament welcomes the launch of the Letís Get Over It campaign by Stonewall as part of Anti-Bullying Week; notes with concern the research finding that, across the UK, 99% of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) pupils report regularly hearing homophobic language at school; believes that an endemic use of homophobic language can create a distressing environment for LGBT pupils and have a seriously negative impact on their lives, and hopes that schools participate in the campaign and take seriously their responsibility to create a welcoming and tolerant learning environment for all.
