Local Government Committee considers CYP Bill and Public Bodies Bill, 03/09/13 [S]

During its meeting of 3 September 2013 the Scottish Parliament Local Government and Regeneration Committee considered the Children and Young People Bill and the Public Bodies (Joint Working) Bill.

The Committee took evidence from Jim Carle, the child health commissioner with NHS Ayrshire and Arran; Dr Anne Mullin, from the general practitioners at the deep end group; Eddie Fraser, the head of community care in East Ayrshire Council; Carol Kirk, the corporate director for education and skills at North Ayrshire Council; and Mary Taylor, the chief executive of the Scottish Federation of Housing Associations and a member of the housing co-ordinating group.

They also heard from the Cabinet Secretary for Health and Wellbeing, Alex Neil; the Minister for Children and Young People, Aileen Campbell; and Philip Raines, head of child protection and children’s legislation, the Scottish Government.
