The Scottish Independence Referendum (Franchise) Bill has been passed by the Scottish Parliament.

The Bill will ensure that everyone aged 16 and over on 18 September 2014 will be able to participate in the independence referendum. The Bill also sets out a franchise based on residency and excludes convicted prisoners from voting.
