School Travel Oral Question, 17/04/13 [S]

During Question Time on 17 April 2013 Mark McDonald (SNP) asked the Scottish Government how it ensures that local authorities meet their duty to ensure the safety of pupils travelling between home and school.

The Minister for Learning, Science and Scotlandís Languages, Alasdair Allan, replied that the Scottish Government believes that the safety of pupils when travelling to school is of paramount importance and must be maintained. Achieving safe transport routes to school is a matter for individual local authorities.
