Guidance for new SOAs, 04/12/12 [S]

New guidance has been published on new Single Outcome Agreements.

The guidance, jointly agreed with COSLA, will mean local public services will focus on priorities to be agreed in new ‘Single Outcome Agreements’ (SOAs) for each area.

The new round of agreements will show that local partners are working together and committing resources to preventing problems. By committing to prevention, public bodies will take actions that stop problems before they take hold, and ease future demand on services by intervening early.

Local Government Minister Derek Mackay said:

"The Guidance we are publishing today asks Community Planning Partnerships to make concrete plans for doing that as part of their new Single Outcome Agreements (SOA).

“Those Agreements will set out how local authorities, the NHS and other public service partners will work together to reduce inequalities and deliver better services and better outcomes for communities. The Agreements will have a particular focus on the economy, jobs, early years, health inequalities and physical activity, safer communities and offending, and older people".
