A Framework for the Delivery of Palliative Care for Children and Young People in Scotland, 20/11/12 [S]

The Scottish Government has published a Framework which sets out a safe, effective and person centered approach to palliative care for children and young people. It is supported by guidance for services and provides a self assessment tool.

The Framework aims to ensure that there are recognised pathways for palliative care within and between Health Boards for every child and young person from the point of diagnosis of a life limiting condition or life threatening condition throught to living with their conditions until the end of their life. Theses pathways should be equitable, sustainable, age appropriate and independent of geography.

For full details see A Framework for the Delivery of Palliative Care for Children and Young People in Scotland which is available from the Scottish Government website.
