Adoption Motion, 06/11/12 [S]

Motion lodged before the Scottish Parliament on 6 November 2012 by Aileen Campbell (SNP) on permanence and adoption.

The full text of the motion reads:

That the Parliament recognises that this is National Adoption Week; congratulates the work of the British Association for Adoption and Fostering in raising awareness of adoption via its campaign, Rule Yourself In; acknowledges that there is an increase in the number of children being adopted, including those from care; welcomes the Scottish Governmentís recently launched Parenting Strategy, which includes commitments to all of Scotlandís parents, including corporate parents, as well as the proposals contained in the Rights of Children and Young People (Scotland) Bill, and agrees that the work to support a collaborative multi-agency approach to improving the quality of decisions in respect of permanence planning should continue.

Amendments to this motion were lodged by Liam McArthur (LD) and Neil Bibby (Lab).
