The Common-Sense Approach to Moving and Handling of Disabled Children and Young People, 26/09/12 [S]

The Scottish Government has published a guide offering a common-sense practical approach to the assessment of risk in relation to the moving and handling of disabled children and young people.

The guide is for workers and employers who work with children and young people with moving and handling needs. It is intended to help make sure that the experiences of disabled children and young people are not limited by misinterpretation or misunderstanding of legislation and regulation.

It considers the rights of children and young people, workers and employers and considers the risk assessment process that should be used when considering the risks associated with moving and handling.

For full details see The Common-Sense Approach to Moving and Handling of Disabled Children and Young People which is available from the Scottish Government website.
