Cyberbullying Written Answer, 03/08/12 [S]

Written Answer given in response to Kezia Dugdale's (Lab) question asking the Scottish Government (a) whether cyberbullying was discussed and (b) what actions were agreed at its recent conference on so-called virtual violence.

The Minister for Learning, Science and Scotland's Languages, Alasdair Allan, replied that the Virtual Violence CPD Event on 12 June 2012 was organised by the Violence Reduction Unit and looked at a broad range of topics within e-safety, including cyberbullying. The event aimed to raise awareness about e-safety and highlighted the role of professionals and the preventative steps that can be undertaken to reduce the risk of e-crime. As this was a CPD event, no distinct actions were agreed.
