Child Support Maintenance Calculation Regulations 2012, 02/07/12 [E/S/W]

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Work and Pensions,Maria Miller, has published the Government’s response to the consultation on the regulations governing the calculation methodology for the new statutory child maintenance scheme.

As part of the Government’s child maintenance reform programme, the existing two Child Support Agency statutory schemes will be replaced with a new, single scheme from October 2012 using a pathfinder approach.

The aim of the new scheme is to produce a faster, more accurate and transparent process for assessing child maintenance payments. This will be achieved with a new administrative framework which will include a single set of calculation rules, a single computer system and a link to information from HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) tax systems.
