Surrogate Parents (Leave, Pay and Allowance Arrangements) Bill, 17/04/12 [E/NI/S/W]

The first Reading for this Private Memberís Bill proposed by John Healey (Lab) took place in the House of Commons on 17 April 2012.

This Bill makes provision to introduce leave, pay and allowance arrangements for parents of children born to surrogate mothers equal to those available to parents whose children are born to them.

Currently those who have a child born through a surrogate mother are entitled only to 13 weeks unpaid parental leave.
