Budget 2012, 21/03/12 [E/NI/S/W]

George Osborne, Chancellor of the Exchequer, set out his third Budget in the House of Commons on 21 March 2012.

Introducing it, he said “This Budget supports working families and helps those looking for work. It unashamedly backs business, and it is on the side of aspiration—of those who want to do better for themselves and for their families”.

Replying for the opposition, Ed Miliband said “The Chancellor spoke for an hour, but one of his usual phrases was missing; there was one thing that he did not say. Today marks the end of “We’re all in it together”, because after today’s Budget millions will be paying more while millionaires pay less”.
