Welfare Reform Committee takes evidence, 13/03/12 [S]

During its meeting of 13 March 2012 the Scottish Parliament Welfare Reform Committee held two round table evidence sessions to introduce the committee to the perspectives of different organisations and to introduce witnesses to the committee’s work on the implications of the United Kingdom Welfare Reform Act 2012.

The Committee heard from Richard Hamer, Capability Scotland; Maggie Kelly, Poverty Alliance; Carolyn Roberts, Scottish Association for Mental Health; Bill Scott, Inclusion Scotland; Dr Jim McCormick, Joseph Rowntree Foundation; Michael McClements, Convention of Scottish Local Authorities; David Griffiths, Ecas Ltd; Matt Lancashire, Citizens Advice Scotland; and David Ogilvie, Scottish Federation of Housing Associations.

They then heard from Marion Macleod, Children in Scotland; Mark Ballard,Barnardo’s Scotland; Kate Higgins, Children 1st; John Dickie, Child Poverty Action Group; Robert McGeachy, Action for Children Scotland; Marion Davis, One Parent Families Scotland; and Claire Telfer, Save the Children.
