Care workforce – report on mapping key features, 24/04/08 [E,S]
Secondary analysis of the Labour Force Survey to map the numbers and characteristics of occupations working within social care, childcare, nursing and education Thomas Coram Research Unit and the Institute of Education for the DCSF. This report presents the findings from research on occupations dealing with children in schools, hospitals and care settings. The research mapped the key features of the ‘care workforce’ which is defined as social care and childcare workers. These features were contrasted with those of nursing and education workers; occupations with high levels of female workers; and all women workers.

Scottish Executive publication providing statistical information on the numbers of social worker posts and vacancies in Scottish Local Authority Social Work Services. This census is carried out on a quarterly basis and these figures are taken from July 2005.

Children's hearings guidance, 02/08/05 [S]
