Inquiries Act [E/NI/S/W]
The Act is intended to provide a comprehensive statutory framework for inquiries set up by Ministers to look into matters of public concern. It gives effect to proposals contained in a Government consultation paper, dated 6 May 2004 entitled Effective Inquiries, which itself arose out of a memorandum, submitted to the House of Commons Public Administration Select Committee as part of its Government by Inquiry investigation.

Disability Discrimination Act 2005 [E/S/W]
The Disability Discrimination Act 2005 (""the 2005 Act"") makes substantial amendments to the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 (""the DDA"") building on amendments already made to that Act by other legislation since 1999.

Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005 [S]
This Scottish Executive Act aims to establish a licensing system within which local decision making by local authority Licensing Boards can take place. The Act introduces several new measures with the aim of tackling under-age and binge drinking.

Family Law (Scotland) Act 2006 [S]
The Family Law (Scotland) Act was introduced to the Scottish Parliament on 7 February 2005. It includes measures to establish parental rights and responsibilities for unmarried fathers and reducing separation periods for divorce. Alongside the publication of the Act the Scottish Executive has announced a number of non-legislative initiatives to support families, including a charter for grandparents and a Parenting agreement for Scotland.

Road Safety Act 2006 [E/NI/S/W]
The Act makes provision for a range of road safety matters.

Serious Organised Crime and Police Act 2005 [E/NI/S/W]
The Act will see the creation of the Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA) and new powers to secure more convictions of crime bosses as well as additional powers for community support officers (CSOs). The Act mainly applies to England and Wales, some major provisions extend to Northern Ireland and Scotland.

Breastfeeding etc. (Scotland) Act 2005 [S]
An Act of the Scottish Parliament to make it an offence to prevent or stop a child who is permitted to be in a public place or licensed premises from being fed milk in that place or on those premises; to make provision in relation to the promotion of breastfeeding; and for connected purposes.

Equality Act [E/S/W]
This Act will establish a Commission for Equality and Human Rights and create a duty on public authorities to promote equality of opportunity between men and women.

Child Benefit Act 2005 [E/NI/S/W]
The Act contains measures regarding the conditions of entitlement to child benefit provided for in Part 9 of the <i>Social Security Contributions and Benefits Act 1992</i> (c 4) - after this referred to as the Contributions and Benefits Act - and in Part 9 of the <i>Social Security Contributions and Benefits (Northern Ireland) Act 1992</i> (c 7) - after this referred to as the Northern Ireland Contributions and Benefits Act.

Children Act 2004 [E/NI/S/W]
The Children Bill introduces; a children's commissioner for England, measures to allow for integrated planning, commissioning and delivery of children's services, establishment of Local Safeguarding Children Boards to replace ACPCs, establishment of databases holding information on all children, measures to ensure accountability, the establishment of an integrated inspection mechanism and other measures
