A new law to protect homeowners across Scotland facing repossession has come into force.

During its meeting of 12 May 2010 the Scottish Parliamet Education, Lifelong Learning and Culture Committee took evidence on subordinate legislation under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.

Child Poverty Bill passed 22/03/10 [E/NI/S/W]
During its meeting of 22 March 2010 MPs in the House of Commons debated and agreed Lords amendments on the Child Poverty Bill. The Bill received Royal Assent on 25 March 2010.

Schools (Consultation) (Scotland) Act Written Answer, 03/02/10 [S]
Written Answer given in response to Jamie Hepburn's (SNP) question asking the Scottish Executive what the transitional arrangements are regulating local authority consultation on the proposed closure of schools between the Schools (Consultation) (Scotland) Bill being passed by the Scottish Parliament and the Act coming into force; and whether its powers to call in a school closure decision under the Schools (Consultation) (Scotland) Act 2009 can be used prior to the act coming into force in cases where a local authority is conducting a consultation based on the actís principles.

The Budget (Scotland) Act sets out the use of resources by the Scottish Administration for the financial year 2008-09.

Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, [S]
The Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Bill was published on 26 September 2006. The Act makes provisions to implement the recommendations of the Bichard Inquiry Report of 2004. The bill would establish a list of individuals unsuitable to work with children and a separate list of individuals unsuitable to work with protected adults.

Schools (Health Promotion and Nutrition) (Scotland) Act 2007, [S]
The Schools (Health Promotion and Nutrition) (Scotland) Bill was published on 11 September 2006. The Act will require local authorities to ensure that food and drink provided in schools meet basic nutritional requirements. The bill will affect school vending machines, breakfast clubs, tuck shops and lunches. It will also allow schools to provide snacks to pupils at other times during the day other than lunch and will require education authorities to promote school meals.
